A 45-year-old man, unfavorably known to the police, was arrested Monday evening after insulting a bus driver and ransacking his vehicle.

The individual was one of the passengers on the bus.

But when the driver asked him to stop drinking alcohol, he got angry.

He first tried to break a transport ticket obliterator, then began to bang violently on the window separating the driver from the passengers while insulting him with "traitor", "sold" and "harkis". and accusing him of "working for France", reports the Sûreté du Rhône.

Once expelled from the bus, the man gave several blows to the windshield of the vehicle while trying to tear off the windshield wipers.

Placed in police custody, he attacked a policewoman.

The latter filed a complaint, as did the company Keolis, which operates public transport in Lyon.
