We have requested a compilation of sick leave from the Västernorland region.

It shows that 8.12 percent of the care staff in the region were on sick leave in January this year.

To compare with 5.5 percent in January 2020.

The highest figure since the beginning of the pandemic is noted in April 2020. At that time, almost every tenth healthcare employee was at home and ill.

(9.81 percent).

Tough in the lab and children and young people

The January figure this year is the fourth highest absenteeism since the start of the corona pandemic.

It corresponds to 52,088 hours of absence.

In January last year, the figure was roughly the same, 8.5 percent.

If you look at which units stand out, the figures show that sick leave this January was highest in laboratory medicine and in children and adolescents.

BUP, children and adolescent psychiatry had the lowest sickness absence.

Surgery, urology, ear, nose, throat and ambulance also had lower-than-average sick leave.
