On TikTok, a video posted by a Canadian sports influencer on January 19 quickly went viral and already has almost seven million views.

Justin Agustin reveals a technique that allows, according to him, to fall asleep in less than two minutes.

The method was devised by the military “to help soldiers fall asleep anywhere and anytime,” explains the physical trainer, quoted by

HuffPost

, at the start of his video.

The technique consists first of all in relaxing each part of your body, in order to feel your limbs and muscles relax until you feel an overall sensation of warmth.

Relaxation, the key to sleep

The influencer then invites you to take a deep breath before considering two possible scenarios.

"You're lying in a canoe on a calm lake, with nothing but a clear blue sky above you," says Justin Agustin.

“[Or] you are lying in a black velvet hammock in a dark room.

It is also advisable to repeat "don't think, don't think" if you feel your mind wandering elsewhere.

The technique is apparently unstoppable for falling asleep quickly.

But what do the specialists think?

“There is not a single human being capable of falling asleep in two minutes, night after night,” relativizes James Wilson, expert in sleep behavior and environment.

“However, this technique encourages the body to relax,” explains the specialist, interviewed by the British version of

HuffPost

.

“The sense of physical and emotional security that comes from relaxing leads to a lower heart rate, which means we're ready to sleep.
