On a completely normal weekday in October, samples were taken in the 12 largest sewage treatment plants in seven of the county's municipalities.

The purpose of the sampling and analyzes is to monitor the extent of drug use in the county.

The substances that have been analyzed are cannabis, amphetamine, cocaine, MDMA and tramadol.

The results show that there were traces of drugs in all of them and they are reported as doses per 1000 connected people.

The highest proportion of doses per 1000 connected in terms of amphetamine was found in Östersund, with 36.6 doses.

When it comes to cannabis, the treatment plant in Järpen stands out with 135 doses.

At the time, the cocaine content was highest in Sveg.

To get a good picture of drug use in the county, the county administrative board will continue to make measurements every six months until 2024.
