“A criminal case has been initiated into the death of a local resident as a result of an attack by stray dogs on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art.

293 of the Criminal Code of Russia (negligence)," the press service informs.

According to investigators, a pack of stray dogs attacked a 58-year-old local resident who was on his way to work.

The victim died at the scene of the incident from his injuries.

Earlier it was reported that during February the State Duma, together with the regions, regulatory authorities and animal rights activists, will develop proposals to solve the problem of attacks by stray dogs on people.

Prior to this, investigators opened a criminal case into the death of a seven-year-old girl in the Chita district of the Trans-Baikal Territory as a result of an attack by dogs.
