During this semester, Borgholm municipality will offer free breakfast for grades 6-9.
There will be two schools included in the pilot project, Åkerboskolan and Slottsskolan.
Do Eliasson, who is the principal at Slottsskolan, says that about a third of all students eat breakfast at school, and that the decision was welcome.
- I know that many of our students have long transport times to school and I also know that there are many students who have difficulty eating breakfast before they leave for school, says Göran Eliasson.
The pilot project to serve free breakfast to everyone in grades 6-9 will run this semester.
It will then be evaluated.
