People's Strength candidate Yoon Seok-yeol defined the current government's policy toward North Korea as a 'policy of submission'.

He downplayed the Korean Peninsula peace process as "completely failed", saying that North Korea is blatantly provoking it by upgrading its nuclear capabilities and testing a hypersonic missile.

Instead, candidate Yoon focused on peace through powerful force.

[Yoon Seok-yeol / People's Power Presidential Candidate: We will pursue peace based on strong national defense. We will build a strong national defense force that can reliably deter any provocations.]

Specifically, he promised to carry out the reduced ROK-US joint maneuver exercise as normal and to normalize the THAAD base in Seongju.

In addition, he added flesh to the theory of a preemptive strike against North Korea, saying that it would secure surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities for North Korea's nuclear weapons and missiles and develop new interceptor weapons such as hypersonic missiles and laser weapons.

He further emphasized, "We can deter reckless attacks only if we show the ability and the will to strike even the North Korean leadership."

The inter-Korean summit meeting without any substantial results was dismissed as a show.

[Yoon Seok-yeol/People's Power Presidential Candidate: Meeting and saying 'Let's just do well in the future' is not normal diplomacy.

That's a show.

I don't do shows.]

He also expressed his intention to participate as a working group in the field of vaccines and seek formal membership in the 'Quad', a consultative body of four countries, the United States, Japan, Australia, and India, which is evaluated as a counterweight to China.

Although it was an announcement of a pledge emphasizing the reconstruction of the ROK-U.S. alliance and deterrence against North Korea, there was also an objection that the confrontation would intensify.

Justice Party candidate Shim Sang-jung participated in a debate invited by a local journalists club and put his representative promise of 'four days a week' as the national agenda.

Ahn Cheol-soo, a candidate of the People's Party, visited Ulsan and raised his voice that the Southern Inland Railway was needed to establish the 'Buul-gyeong mega-city'.
