Anyone who tests positive for covid-19 can be fairly sure that they have corona, regardless of whether they have used an antigen test or a PCR test, says Jan Albert, professor of infection control at Karolinska Institutet.

In the event of a negative test result, however, the rapid tests are not particularly reliable.

- A large proportion test negative even though they are infected, the professor says.

If you have symptoms, you should therefore follow the Public Health Agency's recommendations for infected, even if the test shows a negative, he assesses.

But when is it best to test yourself for as reliable an answer as possible?

Albert answers that in the video above.
