Pilots of Russia and Syria conducted the first joint patrol over the territory of the SAR

It is reported by RIA Novosti.

It is noted that Russian planes took off from the Khmeimim airbase, Syrian planes - from the Seikal and Dumayr airfields.

During the patrol, the Syrian pilots were responsible for airspace control and cover, the Russian pilots worked out strikes against ground targets.

The flight route passed along the Golan Heights, then along the southern border, up along the Euphrates and over the northern regions of Syria.

Earlier it was reported that the Syrian Foreign Ministry put forward a demand for the withdrawal of the United States military contingent from the northeast of the country.
