Today, EU Foreign Ministers meet in Brussels to discuss the deteriorating security situation.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will also attend today's meeting, albeit via a link.

Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde will also meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg together with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto later this afternoon.

Among other things, to exchange analyzes of the situation in Ukraine.

- The purpose is partly to give each other information about the analyzes we have, partly to be careful about what Sweden's and Finland's line is in this and why certain things are particularly important for Sweden and Finland.

It is very important that we have this close relationship with NATO.

Strong reactions

Ann Linde also says that even a limited Russian attack on Ukraine will be met with strong reactions.

- A full invasion is not required for there to be sanctions and other types of harsh measures.

However, there will be no support for Ukraine in the form of military equipment.

We have very strong rules against arms exports so it is not relevant for us.

But we support Ukraine in many other ways, above all through a very high level of aid for reforms in Ukraine, which we believe is one of the most important, says Linde.

No embassy evacuation

Earlier today, it was announced that the United States was recalling relatives of embassy staff in Ukraine due to the increased threat from Russia.

Britain will also recall some of its embassy staff from Ukraine.

At present, however, Sweden will not call in any staff from the embassy in Kiev, according to Ann Linde.

- We have contingency planning for the embassy in Kiev.

Just as we have for other embassies.

But at the moment we do not see that it is needed.
