“The General Assembly took into account that Guinea, Iran and Vanuatu paid the fee necessary to reduce their debt,” Kubiak quoted TASS as saying.

According to her, this means that Iran can now again vote in the UN General Assembly.

Earlier it was reported that the government of South Korea paid off Iran's debt on contributions to the United Nations in the amount of $18 million.

The payment was made using frozen Iranian assets in South Korean banks.
