At the beginning of January, the traffic ban on Kungsgatan in central Uppsala came into force.

The new rule means that motorists must turn down Vaksalagatan if they are traveling on Kungsgatan.

However, the police believed that the signage was too bad and as a result, no motorists were fined despite the ban coming into force.

- We have had a good dialogue with the police authority and are very happy that they will monitor this intersection now, says Christer Åkerlund, traffic engineer at Uppsala municipality.

Uppsala municipality has put up new signs, in both directions, and the police think it looks better.

When SVT was in place, the first fine of SEK 1,000 was also handed out.
