The figure soared beyond the hopes of the organizers of the popular primary: from 110,000 10 days ago, the number of registrants finally reached 467,000 last night, the closing date for registrations.

A performance, immediately criticized in particular by France Insoumise which doubts the transparency of the process or minimized by the communist candidate Fabien Roussel, who believes that these voters only represent the social democratic camp.

", thunders the ecologist Yannick Jadot, who like socialist Anne Hidalgo and rebel Jean-Luc Mélenchon, announced that they would not take the result into account.

The reluctance is also due to the voting method for this primary: a majority judgment vote.

Voters must rate each candidate on their compatibility with the common program presented on the primary's website.

The best rated will win.
