- We want to reduce the tax burden in the long term.

Here, over time, you need to be able to control your invoice more on the electricity price.

Charging your electric car at night will not be as profitable if you have very high taxes, says Rickard Nordin, energy and climate policy spokesman for the Center Party.

Partly pays the bill

In the short term, the government has its own proposal to make it easier for electricity consumers.

Instead of making changes to the electricity tax, they want to compensate customers through the electricity network companies and pay out money based on consumption during December, January and February.

The Center Party can decide whether it is the government's proposal that gets a majority in the Riksdag or whether it is the proposal from the Moderates.

Rickard Nordin today does not want to say which C prefers.

- We analyze the advantages and disadvantages of both proposals.

The important thing is that you can get the money out quickly, but we want to focus on energy efficiency.

Does not mention nuclear power

C also wants to regionalize the property tax for electricity-producing facilities.

Money that today goes to the state should stay locally - for example if a municipality has a large hydropower dam or wind farm.

This is to increase the acceptance of those who live in the area for new investments.

- We think it is reasonable that the entire tax stays locally.

In a debate article in Aftonbladet, Nordin and C-leader Annie Lööf present the party's proposal but do not mention the word nuclear power.

They also want to see a new energy agreement between the parliamentary parties.

- There should be less focus on individual power types, regardless of whether it is wind power and nuclear power, says Nordin and emphasizes that it is necessary to find common ground rules for all power types.
