“World Health”: We are at a dangerous juncture, and we must work to end the critical stage of the epidemic

The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on Monday urged countries of the world to work together to end the critical phase of the Corona pandemic, saying that they now have all the tools available to do so.

"The Covid-19 pandemic is now entering its third year and we are at a dangerous juncture. We must work together to end the critical stage of this epidemic," he said at a press conference with German Development Minister Svenja Schulze.

The health official stressed that "the Corona virus cannot be allowed to continue while we are confused between panic and neglect."

The infections, which reached 1.44 million cases recorded worldwide, exceeded the previous record due to the new wave led by the rapidly spreading mutant Omicron.

Omicron was first identified in South Africa, December 2021. The epidemic has killed about five million and 400 thousand people worldwide since the World Health Organization office in China reported the outbreak at the end of 2019 in China.
