“During the period that has passed since December 15, 2021, when we officially handed over to Washington the draft treaty on security guarantees and agreements on measures to ensure the security of Russia and NATO countries, on the American side we have seen mostly obvious attempts to drag out the discussion of the specific parameters we propose on various expert levels and formats,” the ministry said in a statement on its website.

At the same time, the Russian ministry stressed that the White House and Western countries, instead of trying to focus on answers on the merits of the questions posed in Russian documents, are engaged in an information and propaganda campaign against Russia.

"The White House and its Western allies have launched an extremely toxic information and propaganda campaign that represents our country as an 'aggressor', an 'enemy of civilized Europe' and a 'threat' to international stability," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia expects a quick response from the United States authorities on previously proposed security guarantees.
