In addition, the Peruvian Ministry of Health has also decided to reduce the period of medical rest and quarantine for people infected with the new coronavirus from 10 days to 7 days.

  On the evening of the 21st, the first batch of the new crown vaccine developed by Pfizer for children aged 5 to 11 arrived in Peru, with a total of 996,000 doses, and then shipped to Talma's warehouse in Callao, where distribution will begin immediately.

  Vaccinations for children aged 5 to 11 in Peru will begin on January 24, with some 4.03 million children aged 5 to 11 waiting to be vaccinated across the country.

  After receiving the batch of vaccines, President Castillo said that the vaccination of children will be carried out in an efficient and orderly manner, stressing that these vaccines will help ensure the safe return of students to campus classrooms.

  In addition, the Peruvian Ministry of Health has also decided to reduce the period of medical rest and quarantine for people infected with the new coronavirus from 10 days to 7 days.

The Peruvian government issued Ministerial Resolution No. 018-2022 on the 21st, revising the management, isolation and quarantine of people infected with the new coronavirus.

  Among them, those infected with comorbidities and those who have not completed the new crown vaccination will be quarantined for 10 days; those infected with no comorbidities, asymptomatic and fully vaccinated against the new crown will be quarantined for 7 days.

In addition, if molecular tests performed on or after the third day of diagnosis are negative, the quarantine period can be shortened to 5 days.

  Regarding the home isolation of staff, the Ministry of Health said that infected people do not need a certificate of sick leave or the results of a new coronavirus molecular or antigen test to isolate and inform their employers of their health status so that they can be followed accordingly.

Employees returning to work after quarantine must show their sick leave certificate.
