During its two and a half years of legislature, it will first have to ensure that the European Parliament fulfills its missions: to vote the budget of the European Union, to control the other institutions of the EU and, of course, to debate and vote the laws proposed to it by the European Commission.

But the president – whose anti-abortion position makes her own institution cringe – will also have to direct the work and debates of Parliament, represent it and sign the laws that will be passed there!
