President Moon Jae-in returned home today (22nd) after completing a six-night eight-day tour to the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

During this visit, President Moon focused on strengthening cooperation with Middle Eastern countries in areas of new growth engines such as hydrogen and defense.

In particular, in the UAE, the Korean-style Patriot Cheongung II has been awarded an export contract worth KRW 4 trillion, the largest ever for a single domestic weapon.

Although the much-anticipated discussion on exporting the K-9 self-propelled artillery to Egypt was not finalized during the tour, it is known that the underlying negotiations have made considerable progress.

After returning to Korea, President Moon is expected to focus on domestic issues, such as responding to the mutation of COVID-19 Omicron, as well as measures to support small business owners and self-employed people who are struggling in the aftermath of the coronavirus.
