Dubai Police seize 210 vehicles and issue 526 violations.. and warns against these practices

The General Directorate of Traffic of Dubai Police seized 210 vehicles and issued 526 traffic violations for drivers who committed serious traffic violations in Al Ruwayyah area during the past two months.

Director of the Department, Brigadier General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, said that Dubai Police had received several reports and complaints from the public and residents of the region about vehicles driven recklessly and in a dangerous manner, up to the point of driving in the opposite direction of traffic, or without number plates, and others with unclear numbers in violation of regulations and laws, threatening Thus the safety and personal security of others. 

He added that the violations consisted of driving a vehicle in a way that endangers the driver's life or the safety and security of others, which is a fine of up to two thousand dirhams, 23 traffic points and 60 days of impounding the vehicle, and a violation of making changes to the vehicle's engine or base (chassis) without a license and a fine of 1,000 dirhams and 12 traffic points. And 30 days of vehicle confiscation, as well as a violation of driving a vehicle with one plate, and a fine of 400 dirhams.


Brigadier General Saif Al-Mazrouei explained that the targeting of the Al-Ruwiya area came after receiving several observations and complaints about a number of drivers committing serious traffic violations. He pointed out that the monitoring was immediately tightened and patrols intensified to follow up on the condition of the road and traffic, and to ascertain the extent to which vehicles comply with traffic law and etiquette, and to prevent the organization of parades and races. Pointing out that the aim of this measure is to protect the lives of road users, control road security, and reduce traffic accidents that occur as a result of parades or races.

He stressed that despite the repeated warnings, awareness campaigns, and fatal accidents that this category of drivers are exposed to as a result of these reckless acts, some negative acts are still committed in a way that endangers the lives of road users.

He called on the public to report violations and traffic violations committed by some violators of traffic rules, which pose a danger to road users, by contacting the We Are All Police Program on 901.
