The number of newly confirmed infections with the new coronavirus in Taiwan has risen to the 80s for the first time in about 7 months, and authorities will ban eating and drinking in public transportation from the 23rd. We are increasing our vigilance.

The infection situation in Taiwan has been calm since the end of July last year, but with the rush of homecoming of overseas residents who are going to spend the Chinese New Year's Spring Festival in their hometown, the infection was confirmed by quarantine at the airport from December. Has begun to increase.

In January, the number of infections in the region gradually increased, and 82 new cases were confirmed in the official announcement on the 22nd.

It is the first time in about 7 months that the number of confirmed infections in a day has reached the 80s.

At the factory in Taoyuan City in the north, 70 outbreaks were confirmed on the 21st.

According to the authorities, two of them were contacts because they failed to register their contact information, which is required for customers such as restaurants, when using a restaurant in the city where many infections were confirmed earlier. It was delayed in being identified, which led to the spread of the infection at the factory.

For this reason, the authorities have instructed us to thoroughly register contacts at restaurants and other places.

In addition, eating and drinking in public transportation will be prohibited from the 23rd.

It is expected that the holiday resorts and event venues will be crowded with the Chinese New Year holidays starting on the 29th of next weekend, and the authorities are becoming more cautious about the spread of the infection.
