The 62-year-old centrist won 2.35% of the vote in the first round of the environmentalists' primary from September 16 to 19, finishing last of the five candidates in the running.

He has since sued the Union for Ecology association in 2022 for the conduct and results of the first round of the primary which he is contesting.

The date for a possible trial has been set for March 2, 2022 at the Bobigny court (Seine-Saint-Denis).

The presidential campaign already includes five main candidates on the left without counting the candidates of the extreme left, and candidates of lesser stature, not guaranteed to obtain the 500 sponsorships.
