Parents of asylum-seeking children have told the municipality that the preschool principal must have said that asylum-seeking children are not allowed to stand in the queue.

But the Education Act says that they have the same right to preschool as children who are registered in Sweden.

The preschool's school director, Jan Rosman, explains that the children were denied a queue for financial reasons as the activity receives less money for an asylum-seeking child than a child who is registered in the municipality.

According to Jan Rosman, their actions were due to incorrect information from the municipality.

- They answered us that: "you can do that, you can refuse asylum seekers".

Treatment

The director of children, education and culture, Lena Furén, says that she may have given a misleading task by mistake, but cannot remember it.

- It is not my responsibility to ensure that individuals follow the legal texts, but then I will be supportive and prevailing in the right way, she says.

Jan Rosman thinks that the incident is overplayed as they had conversations with the municipality and the preschool once again receives asylum-seeking children.

- I would not say that she deliberately misled us, says Jan Rosman.

Criticism of denominational elements

The review from the municipality of Flen also states that the preschool, which has a Christian focus, gives the religious elements too much space.

For example, through table prayer and collections of Christian songs and Bible stories.
