Democratic presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung proposed an emergency meeting with the presidential candidates of the ruling and opposition parties to discuss the formation of a supplementary budget worth 35 trillion won to support the damage of small businesses and the self-employed due to COVID-19.

Candidate Lee held an emergency press conference at the National Assembly in the morning and said, "I 100% agree and welcome the 35 trillion won supplementary budget proposed by the People's Power to support small businesses and the self-employed."

Candidate Lee also said, "I propose an emergency meeting to all presidential candidates so that the government can provide 35 trillion won as the next government's financial resources without burden, so that small business owners and the self-employed can be quickly supported."

Regarding the 14 trillion won government supplementary budget bill that was decided at the cabinet meeting earlier through his SNS, Lee pointed out, "We should not repeat the prescription of peeing out of fear of the national debt."

Candidate Lee pointed out, "The supplementary budget bill of 14 trillion won was approved today at the National Assembly, but there is still a big gap from full compensation." He pointed out that "a more aggressive fiscal expansion is urgent."

In addition, he emphasized the need for an increase in the budget, saying, "The ball has passed to the National Assembly again, and the power of the National Assembly is needed."
