The corruption case involving Myanmar's former democratically elected President Win Myint and State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi was originally scheduled to open for the first time in the Nay Pyi Taw Zebudiri Court on January 21, local time.

On January 21, due to the absence of prosecution witnesses, the case was postponed to February 4, and the court only confirmed the case filing and grouping.

According to defense lawyers, the prosecution brought five charges against Win Myint and Aung San Suu Kyi under Section 55 of Myanmar's Anti-Corruption Act, a series of charges related to the purchase and lease of helicopters.

There are also a number of corruption charges that have yet to be formally filed.
