According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 occurred in a sea area 75 km southeast of Oita in Oita Prefecture (Kyushu), Japan at 1:08 a.m. today (22nd).



The epicenter is 32.70 degrees north latitude and 132.10 degrees east longitude, and the depth of the earthquake is 40 km.



There have been reports of vibrations felt in Busan, Yangsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeonnam as a result of today's earthquake.



A citizen of Yangsan said, "About 1:13 in the morning, the vibration was felt, and there were many articles about the earthquake in Mom's Cafe, etc."



Fire officials said there were no reports of damage caused by the earthquake.



In the Busan area, about 800 reports of feeling vibrations were received from the fire department from around 1 am, and two reports of feeling weak vibrations were also received from the fire department in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do, which is relatively far from the epicenter.



However, no reports or inquiries were received in Gwangju.



The Korea Meteorological Administration explained that "earthquakes can be felt in Busan, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan areas."
