Before the fully mechanized mining support, partial roofing occurred many times, and even the hydraulic support was "crushed" and the working face was blocked, but no effective measures were taken to control it. Pumping, a large amount of top coal, slag and water mixture quickly collapsed into the working face and transported in the form of debris flow, resulting in the accident.
At 12:10 on August 14, 2021, a roof extraction accident occurred in the Chaidaer Coal Mine of Xihai Coal Development Co., Ltd. in Haibei Prefecture, Qinghai Province, causing sand and mud to collapse, resulting in 20 deaths and a direct economic loss of 53.9102 million yuan.
