It was the night of December 17 that the man lit the buck and it was completely destroyed.

The man was arrested not far from the fire scene after witnesses from the municipality's home service saw him standing and changing clothes inside the fence of Gävle Castle.

First admitted - but regretted

The man was later arrested and then prosecutors chose to prosecute the man for grievous bodily harm.

Last week, the trial against the man was in Gävle District Court.

When the trial began, the 40-year-old's lawyer said that the man admitted the crime and that he accepted the damages of SEK 109,000.

But when the 40-year-old was then heard in court, he withdrew the confession.

The district court writes in the judgment that the film that the prosecutor played and the photographs that were presented, the district court states that there are great similarities between the person who lights the book and the man who is now convicted.

According to the verdict, the man has finally decided that he can neither admit nor deny the act.
