“In total, more than 130 hectares of territory have been cleared since 2018, more than 2,000 explosive objects have been discovered and destroyed, most of which were air bombs in American-made cluster munitions,” Stavitsky said in an interview with the Russian Defense Ministry newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.

He also noted that the hot climate and dense vegetation of tropical forests significantly slowed down the pace of the search for explosive objects.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense spoke about the work of Russian sappers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
