The Naval Search and Rescue Special Forces Special Forces, the Naval Rescue Squadron, started their first cold-weather training this year in response to the coldest of the 24 seasons, 'Daehan'.

The Marine Rescue Squadron started training in the cold season for three days and two nights from yesterday (19th) with about 90 deep-sea divers (SSUs) participating in the Jinhae military port and nearby waters in Gyeongnam.

The second day of training was held today, the 24th season of Daehan.

The deep-sea divers of the Rescue Rescue Squadron conducted a Fin/Mask training in SSU special gymnastics and 5km canter, which they obtained in the sea and swim at a full speed of 2km.

On the first day, yesterday, five companies belonging to the Marine Rescue Squadron participated and held the 'Iron Man Company' competition in which they competed in four events: pull-ups, bare body cantering, rubber boat pedaling, and pin mask swimming.

Tomorrow, the last day, is scheduled for an underwater search drill assuming the actual rescue operation situation.

SSU crews carry a reservoir and train to rescue a model of a drowning person placed 15m underwater.

The Rescue Squadron has been active not only in underwater military operations but also in various civil disaster sites at home and abroad.

It was used in the Seohae Ferry sinking in 1993, the Sewol ferry sinking in 2014, a Hungarian cruise ship accident in 2019, and the Dokdo fire helicopter crash.
