On Wednesday afternoon, a cold front pulled in over the country.

- Behind it come strong cold winds, says Sverker Hellström at SMHI.

A yellow warning for strong wind gusts, locally storm gusts, has been issued for large parts of Svealand and for northern Götaland.

The warning is valid until 11 pm on Wednesday evening.

After midnight, there is a yellow warning for eastern Svealand when a snowfall area in combination with fresh winds passes.

There is also a warning on Gotland for strong wind gusts that can reach storm strength.

The warnings are valid until six in the morning.

- But all day tomorrow (Thursday) it will be healthy to strong winds, says Sverker Hellström.

The storm can cause power outages when trees blow down over power lines.

Ellevio has doubled its preparedness in Värmland and Eon has increased its preparedness in Stockholm County.

The extent of the strong winds is judged to be less than "the storm that hit Värmland Sunday-Monday, but it will not go unnoticed", says Anders Ekberg, operations manager at Ellevio, in a press release.

SMHI has also issued yellow warnings for gales on the Baltic Sea and for strong winds in the northern Lapland mountains and in the Jämtland and Härjedal mountains.
