On January 11 this year, it was planned that the trial against the person who hunted reindeer by truck in 2019 would be held in Luleå District Court.

But it was canceled because the defendant and the plaintiff had reported sick.

The incident took place in November 2019. The video was posted on an open group page for truck drivers.

In just one hour, more than 200 people had commented, most of them in accusatory terms against the driver.

The video was removed from the group page after Sameradion and SVT Sápmi had published the news.

The incident was reported to the police with the crime classification, animal cruelty according to the Reindeer Husbandry Act.

The first time the trial was scheduled to take place was in April 2021, the second time in August and now the third time in January this year.

Luleå District Court has booked a new time for the trial, 18 May.

- It is not common to book a trial so many times, but with certain cases it happens, says Monika Isaksson, administrator at Luleå District Court.
