As the embassy reported on Facebook, recently the diplomatic mission has received numerous appeals from Swedish citizens asking Russia "not to attack Sweden."
“We consider these fears as a direct result of an unprecedented propaganda campaign launched in the Swedish media at the suggestion of local politicians to inflate groundless anti-Russian fears,” the diplomatic mission said.
The embassy emphasized that Russia is not going to attack Sweden and would like to have good neighborly relations with this country, developing a mutually beneficial dialogue in all areas.
Earlier, Sweden deployed additional forces to protect the island of Gotland.
In a statement from the Swedish Armed Forces, these actions were called "Sweden's reaction to the aggravation in relations between Russia and Ukraine."
