Relations between France and Mali have deteriorated considerably in recent months with the announcement by Paris of the end of Operation Barkhane, the extension of the transition period by the junta or even the arrival on the Malian territory of Russian militiamen.  

On Friday January 14, Malians demonstrated massively, at the call of the junta, in Bamako and across the country, against the economic and financial embargo imposed by ECOWAS (The Economic Community of East African States). West), accusing France of having influenced this decision.

These demonstrators claim, like their leaders, to want to defend the interests of their countries and castigate the policy of France in the Sahel, guilty, according to them, of interference in the affairs of the nation.
