Today, Wednesday, Israeli television said that an Israeli delegation arrived in the Sudanese capital and met the head of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and senior military leaders.

A Sudanese military source told Al-Jazeera that an Israeli security delegation had arrived in Khartoum, on a visit in coordination with the second commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Lieutenant-General Abdel Rahim Hamdan Daglo, who was receiving the delegation.

The Israel Broadcasting Corporation confirmed the news of the visit of the Israeli delegation, which had not been announced in advance, but did not give any details about its mission.

She also said that the plane of the Israeli delegation stopped in Sharm el-Sheikh before arriving in Khartoum, noting that the delegation will return to Tel Aviv this evening.

previous visit

An official Israeli delegation visited Sudan last November, and the American Axios website said at the time that the administration of President Joe Biden had asked the Israeli government to use its "close relations with the leader of the Sudanese coup d'etat and the de facto president, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan to urge the army to restore the civilian government." ".

This American website described Al-Burhan as a pivotal figure in the normalization process between Tel Aviv and Khartoum, over the past two years.

He also said, "He and other Sudanese generals were coordinating with communications officials in the Israeli National Security Council and the Mossad."

The website stated that "two weeks before the coup (25 October last), a Sudanese military delegation visited Israel and held talks with officials in the Prime Minister's Office and Mossad."

Khartoum had agreed with Tel Aviv to normalize relations within the framework of the "Abraham" agreements reached under the auspices of the United States in 2020.
