Five people have died and

eight have been injured,

three of them seriously, in the fire at a nursing home in Moncada (Valencia), as reported by Emergencies of the Generalitat.

The fire occurred around 11:21 p.m. on Tuesday in the center, located on Calle Mayor in the Valencian municipality, and has forced the

preventive

eviction of 70 residents .

Four crews from the Firefighters Consortium, two SAMU and two Basic Life Support (SVB) have been mobilized to the site, according to sources, who have indicated that the fire has been

controlled around 1:20 in the morning.

Eight people have been injured in the fire

due to smoke poisoning,

three of them seriously, and have been transferred to different hospitals.

Sources from the Firefighters Consortium have indicated that six firefighters from the Paterna, Pobla de Farnals, Burjassot and Torrent parks have traveled to the scene, as well as six command units, including the chief inspector of the Consortium and an officer.

According to the sources, upon arrival at the residence the fire was already fully developed, affecting one wing of the building, and the firefighters immediately began rescue and fire extinguishing tasks.

The firefighters have

rescued some twenty-five residents from inside the facilities,

part of whom have had to be treated later by medical means.

With the collaboration of the Civil Guard, Local Police, Civil Protection and the center's own staff, the rest of the residence has been evicted, up to a total of approximately 70 people.
