It was during a match between KRIF Hockey and Mörrum GoIS on December 30 that the nasty scenes took place.

The 26-year-old had his neck cut off by a skate and was taken by ambulance to hospital.

Hoped for a comeback

When SVT met Caleb Eefting a few days after the accident, he hoped for a comeback in the Blekinge team in the near future.

But now comes the news that the hill leaves Mörrum.

"Caleb Eefting chooses to terminate his contract with Mörrum to go home to Canada and take care of himself after the injury he suffered in the away match against KRIF.

We want to thank Caleb for his efforts on the ice and off.

We lose a cannonball guy but health must always come first, "the club writes on its website.
