CAIRO -

After the joy that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi ignited, yesterday, Tuesday, in the hearts of simple citizens, by announcing the increase in the minimum wage and the approval of two additional bonuses for employees, the statements of his Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, about the date of implementing these decisions, came to surprise the Egyptians, some of whom were considered originally This decision is less than expected.

The minister announced that the directives issued by the president will be implemented starting from the beginning of next July, with the start of the new fiscal year budget, nearly 6 months after its announcement.

Maait's statements angered the pioneers of the communication sites in Egypt, who wondered about the reason for announcing the decisions now as long as they will be implemented after 6 full months, and the reason for welcoming them as long as it is the annual bonus that employees have been accustomed to for decades, while some linked the early announcement with the memory of a revolution January 25, 2011, which comes in a few days.

I don't know why the government and the president say about the increases in the new budget 6 months before it... It's early,,, then merchants hear this talk,,, and, moreover, they put the new prices towards implementation,,, which leads to that we do not feel the increase... Urgent, oh Oh boss 😔😔 this is still

the increase in July 😒😒

Why is the minimum application from the month of 6 announced in January?

The bonus is the bonus that you use every year, why do you make it easier?!

Any increase in the minimum wage that I announce now, and it will happen in July. I mean, the news is announced 6 months before that. This is not fear, this is the horror of the end is near.

You will be mad at the so-called "elite" affiliated with the opposition, and they are praising Sisi's decision to raise EGP 300 in salaries.

The issue is greater than the increase of some pounds

. This decision is only a last attempt to calm the situation in Egypt

, and the biggest evidence is that the increase will be implemented in July . Why did you

announce it before the anniversary of the revolution?# Leave_ya_Sisi

In his review of the details of the bonuses, the Minister of Finance made it clear, during a telephone interview with the “Hadith Cairo” program on the “Cairo and the People” screen, on Tuesday evening, that the increase would start from 175 pounds and reach 400 pounds (the dollar = about 15.7 pounds).

Maait pointed out that the additional incentive - which combines the periodic bonus with the additional incentive - means that the minimum starts from 275 to 750 pounds, with the exception of taxes and insurances at a rate of 15%.

He pointed out that the cost of these increases amounts to 45 billion pounds, explaining that these funds will be included in Chapter One related to wages in next year's budget.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic announced, on Tuesday, that Sisi met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the Minister of Finance, and during the meeting, "the draft budget for the next fiscal year 2022-2023" was reviewed, and several decisions were issued, most notably raising the minimum wage to 2,700 pounds instead of 2,400 EGP, and approving two bonuses. The first is a periodical for employees who are addressed by the civil service law at 7% of the job wage, and the second is a special bonus for workers not addressed by the civil service law at 13% of the basic salary.

The decisions included increasing the additional incentive for both those addressed by the civil service law, in addition to what the government had previously announced a few days before, procedures to appoint 30,000 teachers annually for a period of 5 years, in order to meet the needs of developing the education sector.
