Instead of delivering the packages containing the mobile phones, a Toulousain tended to steal them before reselling them.
It all started with a complaint from Chronospost, filed last October, against an employee of one of its subcontracted delivery companies.
The company suspected him of having seized two packages containing mobile phones.
The police officers of the Toulouse property damage unit, to whom the investigation was entrusted, made the link with another complaint for the theft of four packages this time.
By cross-checking these cases, and tracking the sales made by this deliveryman on the Internet, the police realized that they had indeed sold six phones.
Summoned to the police station last weekend, the 24-year-old admitted all the facts.
He will have to explain himself to a judge on April 20 during a plea hearing.
