With today's diesel price, Mullsjö åkeri, with 15 employees, will have to pay around SEK 3 million more for the annual fuel consumption compared to how it was a few years ago.

- For the industry as a whole, I unfortunately think we will see a lot of bankruptcies, says Elisabeth Holm.

Bound by contract

Most of their assignments are bound by contracts that last a year or more.

Therefore, the haulier can not raise its prices at the same rate as the cost of fuel increases.

In the clip above, you hear Elisabeth Holm tell how the haulier tries to handle that about 60 percent of the runs are priced in fixed agreements, which in many cases are negotiated according to significantly lower fuel costs than what currently prevails.

The government wants to speed up the transition

The record-high diesel prices are an important signal, according to Energy Minister Khashayar Farmanbar (S).

He hopes it will lead to increased production of biofuels and a larger share of electric vehicles in the future.

At the turn of the year, diesel prices exploded at SEK 20.

A decisive factor behind the price increase has been the so-called reduction obligation, which gradually forces fuel suppliers to mix in more and more expensive biofuels (HVO) in the petrol and diesel to be sold.

There is no retreat in the near future with regard to the obligation to reduce.

There are also no concrete support measures for affected companies and households in the pipeline.
