China News Service, January 18th. The American Overseas Chinese News reported that on the first anniversary of the inauguration of US President Biden, CBS news and market research website YouGov conducted a public opinion survey on the satisfaction of the American people with the authorities' epidemic prevention results.

The results show that respondents' views on the current epidemic prevention are lower than ever before.

According to the New York Times, the survey, released on Sunday (16th), found that only 36% of respondents believed that the U.S. response to the new crown epidemic was "going well".

Only 49% of Americans support the president's containment measures, compared with 66% of respondents to the July 2021 poll.

Among the respondents who supported the president's epidemic prevention policies, 78% described themselves as liberals, while 83% of those who did not support the authorities' epidemic prevention policies described themselves as conservatives.

The first year of Biden's presidency saw widespread vaccination against Covid-19, but at the same time, the Delta variant was on the mend.

Recently, Omicron pushed the number of cases to new highs, overwhelming hospitals across the country.

The federal government's efforts to curb the spread of the virus have suffered a major setback as the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a private sector mandate for a vaccine or coronavirus testing.

If the law goes into effect, more than 80 million U.S. corporate employees will be affected.

But it comes after the Supreme Court approved a decree that would make it mandatory for health care providers receiving federal funding to vaccinate health care workers.

The survey of 2,094 adult respondents between Jan. 12 and 14 found that 35 percent of Americans believe that the authorities' policies are improving the outbreak; 40 percent believe that these policies have made the situation worse worse.
