The land is the hero of the story in the Madagascar pavilion at "Expo 2020 Dubai", being an island, it is rich in marine biodiversity and coral reefs.

Madagascar is called the paradise of nature, or the eighth continent, because of its great biodiversity, and pavilion officials want to use the wonders of their country to become a source of inspiration for visitors to the international exhibition.

The Madagascar pavilion expresses one of the most unique eco-tourism destinations in the world, with its flora and fauna unmatched anywhere else in the world, and represents an invitation to discover the island's stunning attractions and investment potential.

The baobab tree

The pavilion highlights the "baobab" tree, which is one of the most important features of plant life in Madagascar, as it is a majestic and sacred tree to its people. Complete, and its branches extend up to 30 meters, and it can face harsh living conditions, given that its trunks are full of water.

This tree got the nickname “the bottle tree” due to its strange shape and its cultivation upside down, so that its roots are towards the sky, and the “Baobab Valley” in Madagascar is a unique place, as it is filled with these trees that are more than 800 years old.

The story of reefs and oysters

Through the "Expo", the pavilion answers how Madagascar builds a sustainable and synergistic relationship with its environment, so the pavilion tells the story of reefs and oysters that were formed centuries ago. As the water receded, limestones appeared that formed separators and valleys. Tsingi created special geological formations made of limestone, and it was announced that this natural feature was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.

Pictures of the "lemur" animal, one of the ancestors of monkeys, adorns the Madagascar pavilion at the "Dubai Expo", and is the most prominent symbol that distinguishes Madagascar. It is natural for you to find it sitting on your shoulder while wandering in the forest or in the Tsimbazaza and Isalo National Park, or even the Zombetsi Park. There are 100 species of it, most notably the “dwarf lemur” and “Maki kata”.

The pavilion displays one of the products that distinguish this charming island, which is the world-known aromatic oil "Ravinsara", which means "the tree with good leaves", and is considered a medicine for almost all diseases, including the fight against evil and envy (according to the beliefs of the people of the island), as well as the treatment of depression. As well as being an antiviral and an immune stimulant, the people of Madagascar have used it as a medicine for more than a century.
