For many local fishermen in Satun, it is more profitable to fish for jellyfish than to engage in traditional fishing.

- With jellyfish I can earn between 200 to 500 kronor in one day, while with traditional fishing I would have earned 100, says fisherman Manop Tae Aree.

- There is no octopus left, no shrimp, no shellfish.

At a factory, jellyfish are washed and packaged for export to countries such as Japan, South Korea, China and the USA.

That's where it ends up on the plate.

In ten years, the factory has doubled its sales.

The jellyfish is rich in protein and also contains collagen, which is good for high blood pressure.

Follow the jellyfish's journey from the sea to the factory - and finally on the plate - in the clip above.
