“Tactical exercises with the participation of 1,000 servicemen of motorized rifle units of the 201st Russian military base started at the Lyaur and Sambuli mountain ranges in Tajikistan,” RIA Novosti reports.
As noted, "during the exercises, the personnel will have to work out actions in defense and offensive with the use of reconnaissance-strike and fire systems with the support of artillery and army aviation."
Earlier, the crews of Su-30SM, Su-27 fighters and Su-34 bombers of the mixed aviation unit of the Air Force and Air Defense Army of the Southern Military District began scheduled training flights.
