The National Police have arrested
two young people, a Croatian and a Serbian,
who belong to the itinerant clan called
top models,
a gang made up of women from Eastern Europe specialized in robberies and who allegedly looted several homes in the
Chamberí
area .
According to police sources, last
April
the National Police arrested eleven of the members of this organization, who are professionally dedicated to looting homes and travel itinerantly, thus hindering the police investigation.
These young women move through
wealthy areas of the capital
where they go unnoticed by dressing elegantly and carrying bags from prestigious brands.
The two young women who have been arrested now were not arrested in April but belong to this clan, according to these same sources.
One of them is
a 22-year-old Croatian
, with no criminal record, and her partner is a
19-year-old Serb,
who had been arrested for robbery with force in Barcelona.
These two girls were arrested last Thursday when they were leaving a building in the Madrid district of Chamberí where they had allegedly committed
several robberies in homes
.
Several agents detected these two people walking down the street in a hurried manner and with a fleeing attitude, while removing the hats they were wearing.
After searching them, the police found
cash in several purses
, as well as rings, medals, chains, gloves and a piece of plastic normally used in home robberies to open the doors by the slip method.
They also carried small
pieces of paper
similar to those used to mark the doors of houses and thus verify the absence of the inhabitants.
A neighbor in the area told the agents that moments before a robbery in a house she heard noises at her door and saw a woman wearing a black hat through the peephole.
These girls presumably tried to gain access to his house but gave a shriek so they fled.
The investigators continue with the
investigations
to locate the legitimate owners of the jewels found in the possession of the young women.
