Astronaut Thomas Pesquet will sponsor the Olympic and Paralympic week at school from January 24 and supports the "30 minutes of physical activity" program in primary school promoted by the government and the organizers of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games This Olympic and Paralympic week (January 24 to 29), which will once again be held in a complex health context, aims to promote the regular practice of sport.

An experiment carried out in 7,000 primary schools

Launched a year ago, the experiment of 30 minutes of physical activity per day initiated by the Ministry of National Education and the Paris Olympics is currently practiced in 7,000 primary schools, said the Minister of Education. "I will not be an astronaut without a regular and continuous practice of sport", launched astronaut Thomas Pesquet recounting that he practices "two and a half hours" of sport on board the space station "otherwise we lose muscle mass, in bone mass, and our health is deteriorating really quickly."

"700,000 students should take part in the Olympic and Paralympic week," said Tony Estanguet, president of the Paris-2024 Olympics organizing committee.
