“By the order of the Head of State, Serik Zhusipovich Suleimenov was dismissed from the post of special representative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the Baikonur complex,” Tokayev’s press service reports.
Roskosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said earlier that the situation in the city of Baikonur and at the facilities of the cosmodrome is calm.
During the riots in Kazakhstan, the armed security of key facilities was strengthened at the cosmodrome.
The Baikonur Cosmodrome is located on the territory of Kazakhstan - in the Kyzylorda region near the village of Tyuratam.
The spaceport and the city of the same name together form the Baikonur complex, leased by Russia from Kazakhstan until 2050.
