President Moon Jae-in appointed Kim Young-sik, former Blue House legal secretary, as the new chief of civil affairs at the Blue House.

It has been 27 days since Kim Jin-guk, former chief of civil affairs, resigned due to the controversy over his son's job application.

The new chief, Kim, graduated from Yonsei University's Department of Public Administration and the Judicial Examination (40th), and served as a judge in the Gwangju District Court and Incheon District Court after passing through the Gwangju District Court, the Seoul Southern District Court, the Seoul Administrative Court, and the Seoul High Court.

From May 2019 to April last year, he served as the legal secretary in the Office of the Chief Secretary for Civil Affairs at the Blue House.
