• Campaign The truce is over in the PSPV: last-minute pact offers between complaints to the guarantee commission

  • PSPV The faithful to former minister Ábalos seek to maintain their last share of power in Valencia

After reconciling with

Pedro Sánchez

and sealing a new understanding with him at the institutional and organic level,

Ximo Puig

only had to definitively gain absolute control of Valencian socialism by erasing what has been the main internal current in recent years al

ximismo

: el

abalismo

, the family of former minister

José Luis Ábalos

whose main reference was

Mercedes Caballero

, who until this Sunday maintained the General Secretariat of the PSPV in the province of Valencia.

Caballero, however, has been defeated this Sunday in the PSPV provincial primaries against the mayor of Mislata,

a plethoric Carlos Fernández Bielsa who has prevailed with 78.84% of the votes

, according to party sources. Caballero has not been able to pass 19.88% of the votes, in ballot boxes to which 69.15% of the militants have gone.

Bielsa's victory is also Puig's, bearing in mind that at his re-election congress in November,

only Caballero and his associates threatened to wage battle against the leader of the PSPV

and president of the Generalitat. Puig arrived at this congress without a rival after the fall of Ábalos, despite which Caballero aspired to a re-election also without alternative. Puig and his people, however, never agreed to negotiate a clear path for Caballero, who saw how Bielsa was not being stopped from the president's entourage, but quite the opposite.

In an electoral campaign marked by the suspension of public events in the last week after the death of two minors in the Mislata bouncy castle accident,

Caballero had tried to burn his last cartridge by offering Bielsa his withdrawal in exchange for an integration pact

.

Bielsa refused.

On the other hand, the candidate closest to Puig has also won in the province of Castellón.

The mayor of l'Alcora,

Samuel Falomir,

has been imposed by a tight 52.30% of the votes to the until now provincial leader,

Ernest Blanch

.

The side B of the day for

ximismo

must be found in Alicante, where the first provisional data point to a tight victory for

Alejandro Soler

.

The former mayor of Elche, considered in his day to be close to Ábalos although distanced in recent months, has defeated the favorite of Puig's entourage, the mayor of Alcoi,

Toni Francés

.

Even so, Soler had appeared in the primaries also claiming Puig's management.
