The state leader cited data on the processing of materials from 97.02% of polling stations, according to which 60.48% of the voters were in favor of the amendments, 39.52% voted against.

“I think that we have done a good thing for our country in terms of democratization, significant independence of the judiciary, independent prosecutors,” RIA Novosti quotes Vučić.

Voting began on January 16 at 07:00 (09:00 Moscow time) and continued until 20:00 (22:00 Moscow time).

A total of 8,029 polling stations were opened.

Vučić himself voted at a polling station in a kindergarten in the Novi Beograd region.

According to him, the referendum leads to reforms that will allow Serbia to "move forward."
